Remembering the Martrys
On the first anniversary of 26/11 terror attack
in Mumbai, Smile kids remembered the martyrs and lighted candles
in their memory. They were a part of the special programme organised
by COLORS Television.
The event was organised behind Infinity Mall, Andheri in remembrance
of the people who lost their life on the particular day a year
back. Actor Tina Dutta alias Ichhaa of tele serial Uttaran fame
was also a part of the programme. In association with Big 92.7
FM, COLORS showcased a few pictures of the terror attack, which
was displayed inside a bus.
Tina Dutta along with Smile Foundation kids inaugurated the bus
and later lighted candles in the memory of the Jawans who lost
their lives battling with the terrorists. Tina Dutta and Smile
children together sang ----- 'Saare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan
Hamara' and 'Ee Mere Watan Ke Logon'.
Employees
of Barclays Bank got together with Smile Foundation for ‘Make a
Difference Day’ on November 6, 2009. At least 30 employees from
Barclays Bank went to Nut colony — a resettlement colony to organise
many awareness activities with the inhabitants. A health awareness and
sensitisation camp for all age groups was also conducted with the help
of Smile on Wheels, the mobile hospital programme of Smile Foundation.
The health camp offered services like treatment for eyes, general OPD
service, pathology etc. Free medicines were distributed to around 210
patients and spectacles were provided to all those having vision problems.
Career counselling and personality development classes were held for young
girls. About 300 people benefitted from the programme.
