Prerna Arora, known for backing films like Rustom and Toilet Ek Prem Katha, has now set her heart and mind on backing the cause of girl child empowerment. She has joined hands with Smile Foundation, to support and raise awareness for the education and skill training of young girls, with the aim of enabling them to become financially independent.
Smile Foundation announced the partnership at an event in Mumbai where senior producer Vashu Bhagnani handed the certificate to Prerna and on boarded her as the Goodwill Ambassador for the cause. She received a touching welcome by girl children from the Foundation who have already started looking up to the young, determined and successful producer as their role model. To begin with, Prerna has pledged support for the skill training and holistic development of 400 girls.
Smile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 400,000 children and their families every year, through more than 200 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
