For the second consecutive year, Triumph Motorcycles India joined hands with Smile Foundation and dedicated the 15th of August i.e. Independence Day to the cause of child education. Commemorating 70 years of India’s independence, Triumph Motorcycles customers from all over the country came together to “Ride for Freedom” and raise awareness and support for the education of children under Smile Foundation’s Mission Education programme.
The event was held across twelve major cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kochi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, and Jaipur. Each rider contributed by pledging his support towards the cause before beginning the ride. The rides were flagged off from the Triumph Dealership stores of the respective cities and culminated back at the dealerships.
Initiated in 2002, Mission Education is Smile Foundation’s flagship programme providing basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children, with the belief that education is both the means as well as the end to a better life because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood while also increasing one’s awareness on a range of issues; in the process helping him/her evolve as a better citizen.
