United Service Institution of India, it’s an institution with expertise in the field of national security and matters pertaining to the defense service. The Institution in partnership with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) launched a project called ‘India Remembers’. The project aims to develop a community outreach and education program to engage with a wider segment of society to encourage them to Remember, Honor and Commemorate the Indian soldiers who fell in the two world wars, as well as the many military conflicts, post independence.
Smile Foundation has partnered with USI and has participated in the launch of “India Remembers” project. The high profile event witnessed participation of senior defense officials, National security advisor to Prime minister, Members of Commonwealth War Graves Commission (UK) and the ex-servicemen. Children from Smile Foundation recited a poem in remembrance to Indian Soldiers and were appreciated widely by the audience.
