Smile Foundation has associated with the prestigious Children Film Society India (CFSI), as the Outreach Partner for their feature film Gattu.
In order to support the journey of Gattu Smile Foundation organised a special screening of the feature film at Film Division of India, in Delhi. This screening was conducted especially for school principals, teachers, Smile’s NGO partners and children beneficiaries.
Present for the screening were Director Rajan Khosa and Creative Head of CFSI Monica Wahi, along with Santanu Mishra, Co-Founder and Executive Trustee of Smile Foundation and Jitendra Mishra, Advisor Media Advocacy of Smile Foundation.
Gattu is the story of a street urchin whose passion for flying kites gets him into stickiest of situations. He takes up big challenges with neither money nor education on his side, with the determination of fulfilling his dreams. After being premiered at the Children’s Film Festival in Hyderabad, the movie has already won awards at the prestigious 62nd Berlin Film festival, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) and the 12th New York Indian Film Festival. Then it travelled to various film festivals at Beijing, Cannes, Toronto and Edinburgh. It has been invited in competition category for Asia Pacific Screen Awards as well.
Smile Foundation had ventured into the platform of films with its 22 national and international award winning film I am Kalam. Smile’s prime objective of using this medium is sensitization of the masses about the dream of every child to go to school. And to further strengthen this sensitization drive Smile Foundation has associated with this film Gattu.
