I am Kalam was screened at the 5th Indo-German Film Festival in Bangalore, as one of 10 best film from India. This film festival was organised by The Goethe-Institute and Max Mueller Bhavan-Bangalore, under the motto of: ‘Two nations – a single screen’. The Festival is being held in collaboration with The Bavarian State Government, the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Germany and Suchitra Film Society, Bangalore. And, showcased 10 German and 10 Indian feature films under the banner of Germany & India 2011–12 Infinite Opportunities.
The objective of the screenings was to showcase the nature of art in German and Indian cinema. The screening of the films included Kannada & children films. This festival provided a platform to cineastes and members of the film industries to interact and network. Many German and Indian high- profile film delegates, including directors, producers and casts, attended the Film Festival.
The critically acclaimed film “I am Kalam” produced by Smile Foundation, was selected as one of the best 10 films from India. Executive Trustee and Co-Founder of Smile Foundation and Producer of I am Kalam Mr. Santanu Mishra and Mr. Jitendra Mishra, Associate Producer of I am Kalam were also at the festival.
