Smile Foundation organized the 9th annual multi-disciplinary free mega health camp was in Bhilwara district of rural Rajasthan. Smile has been organizing this mega health camp for the past seven years in association with the Jain Sabha Women’s Wing. This mega health camp provides free medical facilities to the poor people with a motive of bringing finest healthcare facilities to the underprivileged living in the vicinity of Shahpura in Bhilawada. There are 100 villages in the vicinity with a population of over 20,000 who are catered to by this health camp every year. The area has only one government dispensary and in case of critical medical attention, a patient has to be taken to Bhilwara for further treatment. Every year, thousands of people visit this health camp and over 1000 people avail the services. The health camp is a boon for the villagers who do not have access to proper healthcare service.
This is a multi-specialty camp offering multi-disciplinary health care services including investigative and surgical interventions by a dedicated team of medical experts. More than 100 doctors and paramedical staff specialized in surgery, ophthalmology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, medicine, E.N.T, anaesthesia, radiology, paediatrics and pathology work together to provide voluntary service at the camp. Along with free diagnosis and medical treatmensts, beneficiaries are also provided free food, stay and transportation at the camp.
This year the camp saw a total number of 5534 beneficiaries. Utensils and blankets were also distributed to the patients this year.
