On 8th Mar ’18 Women’s day was celebrated in Surat Nagar Phase-II in Gurgaon with 60 beneficiaries that included women and adolescent girls.
The event started with a warm welcome of the participants by the team. A mesmerizing dance by the community girls and women followed which was enjoyed by all. Then 4 of the beneficiaries, who have benefitted from Swabhiman, shared their stories with the group and were appreciated by all.
Then the women were divided into 6 groups for a rangoli competition. Beautiful rangolis were created by the groups. After this, a play was performed by the community women.
Followed this was a poster cum slogan competition for the adolescent girls. Meanwhile, many women came forward and performed when the girls were busy putting their creative ideas on the paper.
The winners of both the competitions, beneficiaries who shared their stories and the performers of the play were felicitated with a hygiene kit that included sanitary napkin packet, calcium tablets, hand wash and intimate wash. They were explained about the importance and usage of the kit as well.
