On the eve of Mother’s Day, renowned Odissi dancer Kiran Segal celebrated the success of her recently authored book, “Zohra Segal: Fatty” with Smile Foundation’s children beneficiaries. An interactive session was conducted wherein the children asked Ms. Segal about all her dancing career, how she managed to train herself in such a difficult dance form and yet continue with academics, why did she think of writing a book, etc; to which Ms. Segal responded with great patience and very happily.
Kiran Segal has written a book on her mother and celebrated actor Zohra Segal. This book was published on Zohra Segals’s 100th birthday.
Speaking for the occasion Kiran fondly shared some memories – “My mother has been strict all these years. She used to take me to Prithviraj Theatre after my school hours and also put to dance sessions. I used to hate it. But when I look back I realize how my mother has relentlessly shaped me as a person over all these years”.
