Dedicated to the welfare of women and the girl child, Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman programme a series of plays were organized across the slum clusters of Delhi to sensitize the communities on the role of men and boys in the empowerment of women and the girl child. Two plays were organized in Malviya Nagar and Dhaula Kuan, with a focus on the vital issue of reproductive and child health. The people were not only made aware about the issue but also explained how a change in the behavioural attitude of the male members of family and community can help women and children have improved access to healthcare services. The audience was captivated and engaged throughout the play and they also got encouraging response to their questions. Volunteers from Sugandaya Natya Manch joined hands with the Swabhiman team in conducting the plays.
