A day long workshop was conducted on nutrition and healthy eating for adolescent girls and pregnant women, on November 12.
The workshop was attended by 30 Swabhiman Health Volunteers (SHVs) and 4 Community Health Educators (CHEs). Identified from within the community, these volunteers form an important link in promoting and sustaining health-seeking behaviour in the communities.
Sangeeta Raj, consulting dietician with hospitals like Apollo and Deepak Memorial, conducted the workshop at Smile Foundation’s office in Delhi. A pre-assessment session was followed by a rigorous interactive activity on eating patterns of adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women. A few easy-to-make recipes for a healthy and balanced meal were also shared during the session.
