A specialized doctors’ training was held in Mumbai by Smile Foundation for the doctors working under various Smile on Wheels project at the PAN India level on 16th and 17th September 2017.
The session started on the 16th September with immense enthusiasm at 9 am during which the doctors first introduced themselves after which the first session on providing Basic Life Support (BLS) refresher training for the doctors was conducted. Each doctor was given an opportunity to practice the session on chest compression over a mannequin The second session was focused on the Standard Operating Procedure of Smile on Wheels.
The participants were given the freedom to raise questions about things they did not understand and the doctors were asked to maintain more precaution while recommending medicines.
It was also discussed if a e-OPD card could be generated in near future which would further enable the doctor to know about the history of the patient. The doctors were also asked to calculate the disease rates in the community. Doctors were asked to guide and help the Project Coordinators and other Para medical staff to gain more knowledge about the various medical terminology and the important IEC activity topics (Information Education & Communication) that are useful for the community.
