The Smile on Wheels mobile hospital project has now extended its services to auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers in outer Delhi and National Capital Region. These people generally stay away from regular health care because they are the sole bread winners of the family. The mobile hospital visits designated CNG gas stations in Delhi NCR that are frequented by such drivers. As a major focus, the project has been covering the homeless, slum dwellers, migrants, daily wage earners and rickshaw pullers in clusters like Yamuna Pushta, Mansarovar Park, Rani Garden, Kalyanvas, Mori Gate, Motia Khan, Majnu Ka Tila, Shastri Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Shastri Park, and Nand Nagri. The project is being run in collaboration with St. Stephen’s Hospital, the capital’s oldest hospital, established in 1885.
