PepsiCo India and Smile Foundation provided 1 lakh nutritious bowls to underpriviledged families on ‘National Whole Grain Sampling Day 2022’. On the occasion, PepsiCo India expanded its ‘Bowl of Hope’ initiative, aimed at creating awareness about whole grains and its importance in daily diets. Aligned with FFSAI’s Eat Right Movement, PepsiCo India through its brand Quaker, and in partnership with Smile Foundation, provided over one lakh nutritious bowls of whole grains to the underserved communities across the country. Further, to mark the Whole grain Sampling Day, a special education programme was organized for school children at Santulan Bhavan in Pune, Maharashtra.
Employees of Avery Dennison actively participated in the Mega Health Camp organized by Smile Foundation in the Dundahera village, Gurugram, to create awareness on reproductive health. Avery Dennison employees were part of activities like registration, crowd mobilization, support at pharmacy counter and counselling desk, documentation and photography. The Health Camp provided free medical consultation and medicines to the beneficiaries. Smile Foundation has partnered with Avery Dennison to empower underprivileged women in Sarhaul and Dundahera villages of Gurugram with an aim to work towards reproductive health education, entrepreneurial skills and spreading awareness on various government schemes.
PepsiCo Foundation, in partnership with Smile Foundation and District Administration, inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre in the Channo village of Sangrur district, Punjab. A special event was organised to celebrate the Nutrition Enhancement Programme in Sangrur. The event saw the unveiling of an exclusive recipe book and a compilation of nutritious recipes created by the local community and nutritional experts. The Nutrition Enhancement programme was launched in 2019 with an aim to improve the nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women, and children in the age group 0-6 years across 13 villages in Bhawanigarh block of Sangrur District, Punjab.
Smile Foundation was recognized for its mobile healthcare programme Smile on Wheels by the CSR Health Impact Awards 2022. Smile on Wheels takes preventive, curative and promotive healthcare services to the doorstep of the less privileged in remote rural areas and urban slums.
