Students from J. H. Tarapore School are on a mission to help their new found friends reinvent childhood and create interest in studies. Their friends are 30 homeless children between 6 and 16 years who have till recently been wandering around Tatanagar railway platforms.
Now inducted at Mission Education centre at Sakchi, Jharkhand, run in association with YMCA Jamshedpur, most of the children are either orphans, abandoned or runaways from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal.
With good habits, study, care and inviting privileged citizens as ‘foster parents,’ the children have started dreaming about making an identity for themselves. Children from leading schools of the steel city pay a visit some time or take them out, which is making them grow more compassionate and wanted.
