A one of a kind Children’s Parliament was conducted on Feb. 24, 2019. It was organized under the aegis of the Child Friendly City inititiative of Don Bosco a Mission Education partner of Smile Foundation. The Children’s Parliament sought to provide a platform to the city’s children to voice their issues and concerns. Issues pertaining to the state of education in govt. schools apart from health, and safety were discussed. The children conducted the show with great confidence. The event was supported by the Chandigarh Administration (Education and Transport department).
2700 children from various Government and private schools assembled under the Open Hand Monument in the Capitol Complex, Chandigarh. Children from Mission Education centers were also presentin the Parliament.
The event culminated with a marathon which was led by a biker from Harley Davidson. Smile Foundation was present as a supporting organization and we were also present on the expert panel which took up children’s questions on these matters.
