Smile Foundation to mark the occasion of National Girl Child Day on January 24 2019 conducted painting exhibitions in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) at Bhopal and Central Museum, Nagpur. The exhibition was titled ‘Swabhiman- Pride – Dignity ‘made by school students of Bhopal and Nagpur.
This exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Director, IGRMS at Bhopal and at Nagpur by Dr. Neha Bhargava Pankule who is a Gynecologist and Oncology Surgeon. On this occasion, Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri said, “National Girl’s Day should be celebrated like a festival all over the country. Whereby in society, all the darkness related to the girl can be eradicated through awareness.”
Under the Child for Child programme, Smile Foundation visits various schools and conducts engaging sessions for the young minds. It sensitizes children towards various causes and let them realize their privileged status.
CFC currently reaches out to nearly one million privileged children in 900 schools spread across 417 districts of India, every year. In addition, their parents and teachers are also involved in the process. The programme has today reached out to each part of India with the exception of Lakshadweep.
