Position: STEM Facilitator
Location: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh & Kerala
Report to: Cluster STEM Coordinator, Mission Education
No of positions: 10
The Cluster In charge will lead the on-ground implementation in 12 government and low-income private schools, manage the project activity, and will be the central point of contact for organizational activity related to the project.
Accountabilities
• Experience in teaching or training delivery would be valuable.
• Previous experience in facilitating learning or facilitating strategy/ team workshops
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to engage alongside participants in the program
• Technical background in science and /or engineering would be useful but not essential
• Background or experience in learning and development in the technical and non-technical sectors would be useful
• Experience in using business/functional tools and structured approaches to problem-solving or using a process
Duties and Responsibilities
Functional
• Work closely with the Cluster STEM Coordinator to strategize to meet Mission Education goals
• Ensure the strategic project goals are delivered in a timely and effective manner
• Maintain relationships with a network of key external stakeholders relevant to the execution of the project objectives.
• Take responsibility for managing the on-field data collection, and monthly reporting process – reviewing project reports, drafting reports, and assimilating information into reports in accordance with organizational requirements.
• Carry out administrative duties e.g. event management, monitoring and evaluation, and any other tasks as reasonably requested.
• To facilitate the on-field activities (multiple locations) through STEM Facilitators
• Develop rapport with the Schools and implement the assigned project through them
• Develop and maintain project management approaches that facilitate open, effective, and timely communication
• To build the capacities of School teachers & monitor their activities, manage the project activity within budget
• Take overall responsibility for the effective and efficient management of resources in accordance with Smile Foundation’s financial procedures and local governance regulations
• Work cooperatively with external organizations, and teams within Smile Foundation to pursue project objectives and wider organizational goals, including those relating to brand, communications, and resource management.
Management
• Develop and maintain project management approaches that facilitate open, effective, and timely communication
• Support the Senior Management and Project lead in ensuring the development and implementation of consistent approaches that contribute to the organisation’s strategy
Finance
• Manage the project activity within budget.
• Oversee the management of the project’s budget with forecasting in close coordination and reporting to the Cluster STEM Coordinator and Finance team.
• Take overall responsibility for the effective and efficient management of resources in accordance with Smile Foundation’s financial procedures and local government regulations
Organizational responsibilities
• Work cooperatively with schools, and teams within Smile Foundation to pursue project objectives and wider organisational goals, including those relating to brand, communications, and resource management.
• Actively participate in building our brand and maintaining the integrity of our brand to support our profile, lead generation, income, and engagement.
• Actively participate and support the organization to ensure that we manage resources (financial, staff, and IT) efficiently and effectively by improving the systems, reporting, and compliance.
• The role holder will be responsible for any other task assigned by the senior management within the scope of this role.
• The post holder will be required to travel to provide support or participate in Smile Foundation’s activities as and when required.
Skills and Experience
• Experienced and highly motivated individual, with a proven track record of managing projects to deliver specific outcomes.
• Experience in the design and delivery of impactful projects that have achieved change.
• Team player with excellent project management and coordination skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships across internal departments and teams.
• Strong communicator, and able to constructively engage external and internal stakeholders, to develop and deliver project solutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including written and spoken English and Local Language.
• Knowledge of education issues or experience in the field of education. (Digital education and science)
• High level of awareness of global and regional social, economic, political and environmental issues relevant to education. In-depth knowledge of teaching methods/ passion to work for change.
Qualifications
• BSC/B Tech/B.ED/BSW or any other related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience
Desirable
• Knowledge of educational issues or experience in the field of education. (Digital education and science)
• High level of awareness of global and regional social, economic, political and environmental issues relevant to education.
• Knowledge of IT or digital learning.
