Oracle has joined hands with Smile Foundation to train underprivileged youth from identified communities of Hyderabad and Mumbai under the Smile Twin e-learning Programme (STeP). The year-long partnership will benefit over 200 young girls and boys through two STeP centres located in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The trained youth will further be placed in various retail, hospitality and service sector brands.
With more than 420,000 customers and deployments in more than 145 countries, Oracle offers a comprehensive and fully integrated stack of cloud applications, platform services, and engineered systems. For Oracle, corporate citizenship means being responsible not only to its shareholders, but also to its stakeholders—those affected by and with an interest in their activities—including employees, customers, partners, society, and the environment.
Smile Twin E- learning Programme (STeP) aims at creating a pool of young and independent people, from a section of underprivileged youth, through skill enhancement in tandem with market requirements. So far, more than 22,600 youth have been trained and over 14,500 have been placed under STeP.
