Smile Foundation has been recognized as the development organisation that brought the most happiness by the India Today RPG Happiness Awards. The award was presented to Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-Founder & Executive Trustee by Mr. Harsh Goenka, Chairman, RPG industries and Mr. Arun Puri, Founder and Editor-in-chief, India Today Group. The winners were selected by the Jury, post survey and analysis by the leading research firm Marketing & Development Research Associates.
Team Vistara celebrated the 90th anniversary of JRD Tata's maiden flight by sharing their world with our children and helping them experience the 'new feeling' aboard the Delhi-Amritsar-Delhi flight followed by a visit to the Taj Swarna in Amritsar. The children were excited about their first-time flight experience and had a great time as they made memories for life.
Employees from Deutsche Bank volunteered to conduct a health and hygiene session for children in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In partnership with Deutsche Bank, Smile Foundation is operating 7 Smile on Wheels mobile hospital projects, providing free doorstep healthcare to children and families from low-income communities in Bengaluru, Jaipur, Mumbai and Pune. Over the last seven years, the joint initiative has impacted more than 600,000 people.
The Siemens Scholarship Programme, co-implemented by Smile Foundation, completed 10 years. Since 2013, over 1335 deserving students from 120 colleges across India have received the scholarship to pursue engineering. Most of them have been placed in leading companies in sectors such as engineering, banking and finance, IT services, infrastructure, automotive and consumer goods, and in Siemens, becoming role models in their communities.
One of the largest participatory sport cum fund-raising platforms for civil society organisations in the country, the Tata Mumbai Marathon was a great success like every year. Volunteers from M&G, LIC and DDB Mudra participated and ran along with the Smile Team as the respective corporate supported Smile Foundation’s #ShikshaNaRuke campaign to help continue the education of underserved children across the country.
Team CNH Industrial invited children from Smile Foundation to their office premises for a fun-filled day. They spent time interacting with the children, hearing their stories, and sharing their own experience in turn with the children. The CNH Team also took the kids for a tour of their office, encouraging them to ask questions, and patiently answering every query.
