Between the 13th and 16th of October 2023, Child for Child, a national-level program aimed at fostering the holistic development of privileged children, screened the heartwarming and inspirational movie “I am Kalam” for an audience of 3,550 students from various schools in India.
Child for Child focuses on imparting value-based education to school children, nurturing them to become significant change-makers who positively contribute to society. Currently, the program reaches out to nearly 1,850,000 children across 4,400 schools spanning 417 districts in India annually, actively involving parents and teachers in the process.
“I am Kalam”, a film produced by Smile Foundation, pays tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. It holds particular significance when screened in schools, as it serves to inspire and motivate young students to pursue their dreams and work diligently toward their goals, much like Dr. Kalam did throughout his life.
The movie tells the story of a young boy aspiring to be like Dr. Kalam and underscores the pivotal roles of education and determination. It highlights the belief that anyone, regardless of their background, can achieve greatness through hard work and dedication. Dr. Kalam’s life and work remain a timeless source of inspiration, and celebrating his birthday in this manner is a fitting tribute to his memory and his unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment.
