Summary of Role
As the National Manager of Health Programs, you will play a pivotal role in driving the rapid expansion of healthcare initiatives aimed at delivering doorstep primary healthcare services to millions of low-income adults and children in India through approximately 100 mobile medical units. These programs are a central focus within our organization, demanding a proactive and dynamic approach.
In this capacity, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of around 100 Mobile Medical Units, Mobile Dental Units, Mobile Telemedicine Units, and Static Clinics, all supported by leading donors and funders. Your success in this role hinges on your in-depth subject matter knowledge, expertise, and hands-on experience in managing operations of this nature. You will directly lead a team of experienced team leads and hold the key responsibility for program implementation and expansion through their efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Ensure the timely implementation of all approved projects.
- Oversee the effective implementation of an online Management Information System (MIS) across all projects.
- Support the program head in program design, delivery, and reporting frameworks.
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate access to primary healthcare.
- Track and manage program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure the timely submission of program and financial reports both within the organization and to donors/funders.
- Maintain adequate inventory, equipment, consumables, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, and collateral at all outreach and program sites.
- Monitor ongoing projects and perform audits via travelling across PAN India.
- Manage vehicle maintenance and logistics audits.
Financial Management
- Consolidate annual plans and budgets for programs and monitor progress against them.
- Manage fund utilization by regularly reviewing and overseeing program budgets and expenses.
- Ensure financial resources are used in line with agreed-upon deliverables.
- Facilitate the timely submission of bills from the field, followed by submission to the finance department for reimbursements.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations with the finance team.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster liaisons and network with government agencies and authorities.
- Ensure the involvement of government representatives in ongoing programs.
- Collaborate closely with like-minded organizations.
- Secure donor renewals and support donor nurturing activities.
Team Management
- Lead a skilled team dispersed throughout India, providing mentorship, guidance, and motivation to help them achieve their objectives.
- Monitor the team’s performance and ensure diligent reporting.
- Offer supportive supervision to train and develop current team members.
- Review and manage program staffing and field deployments.
- Enforce strict adherence to all HR policies and protocols.
- Manage engagement and communication with all internal and external program stakeholders.
- Make periodic visits to donors/funders and partners.
Qualification and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Public Health / Social Work / Sociology / Psychology/ Bachelors in Dental Surgery.
- 10-12 years of experience with at least 5-6 years of experience in healthcare program management, preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting.
- Demonstrated success in project planning, financial management, program monitoring, report writing, and identifying and procuring technical assistance.
