HDB Financial Services Limited has teamed up with Smile Foundation for better healthcare access for underserved communities through our Smile on Wheels initiative. This collaboration began in 2018 with the launch of a mobile hospital in Sonbhadra of Uttar Pradesh. Building on this success, a second Smile on Wheels project was introduced in Thiruvallur of Tamil Nadu in September 2021. Together, these mobile units have reached over 80,000 people, providing primary healthcare services.
The Smile on Wheels programme is designed to overcome barriers to healthcare access, especially in urban slums and remote rural areas. By bringing medical services directly to those in need, the program focuses addresses issues of mobility and accessibility.
As of May 2023, the Sonbhadra mobile unit has been relocated to Unnao of Uttar Pradesh, continuing its mission to serve new communities. Additionally, a new static clinic has been established in Ludhiana, Punjab, starting from September 2023. Together, these initiatives have reached approximately 150,000 beneficiaries, demonstrating HDB Financial Services’ ongoing commitment to improving healthcare access and support.
In addition to the mobile units, HDB Financial Services supports two static clinics in Delhi and Ranchi. These clinics, located in transport hubs, offer medical and physiotherapy services tailored to the trucking community. To date, more than 36,000 truckers have benefited from these services. Due to their success, these clinics have been rebranded as Transport Aarogya Kendras, with plans to expand and enhance support for similar centres.
HDB Financial Services Limited has partnered with Smile Foundation to extend support to the “Smile on Wheels” mobile hospital, benefitting underprivileged communities.
