Smile Foundation and Population Foundation of India (PFI) together are working for a programme called Swabhiman. In April 2007 the partnership with Population Foundation of India (PFI) took place to implement a 3 year Holistic programme on comprehensive Healthcare and Empowerment of Women under the Swabhiman interventions covering more than 80,000 under-privileged population (now increased to 1, 00, 000) residing in slums and urban-rural hinterland of Delhi.
PFI has been at the forefront of the Non Governmental efforts towards rights based, Gender sensitive approach for Human development. Swabhiman, meaning self-respect, is a programme designed to enable women to realize their full potential in every sphere, be it home, office or community. This programme helps in enhancing the skills and information relevant to make them realize their self-esteem
