Currently, more than 420 youth residing in slum clusters in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Chennai are actively participating in Smile Foundation’s Livelihood Programme, known as STeP (Smile Twin e-Learning Programme). This comprehensive Skill Development training focuses on healthcare and Core Employability, equipping these young individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in the job market. As of now, 109 participants have successfully completed the training, with an impressive 50% placement rate.
Partnering with NTT DATA Services, the skilling program aims to empower underprivileged youth by enhancing their skills in line with market demands. The program operates through four terms, each spanning three months. With an average of 35-40 students per term, a hybrid model is adopted, providing both offline and online classes to facilitate learning.
The healthcare training curriculum offers a comprehensive understanding of patient care, patient monitoring and reporting, healthcare communication, safety, and various other relevant topics. Additionally, students receive training in Core Employability skills, empowering them with the essential capabilities required to enter the workforce confidently.
