Bangalore : Smile Foundation organized a workshop on the pertinent issue of ‘Protecting Children from Sexual Predators’ for 50 principals and educationists from various schools and institutions in Bangalore. Sexual abuse of children has become the subject of great community concern and focus of many initiatives. Smile Foundation as an organisation working for children understands the need to protect children from all sorts of problems. As a small proactive step towards this concern, a workshop is being organized for the school principals on how we can safeguard our children from sexual abuse.
Ms. Smita Kalappa, National Director, CFC programme, Smile Foundation, Ms. Musrath Begum, Regional Director – South, Smile Foundation, Ms. Kiran Malik, National Manager, Smile Foundation along with Dr. Ali Khawaja, Founder and Head of Banjara Academy facilitated the workshop.
Principals who joined the workshop expressed over the same saying, “It feels great to be a part of such workshops which are informative as we have always wanted to get involved in something that helps us connect to our children and students who need attention and someone to understand them. We are pleased to be associated with Smile Foundation and its concern for children of the society.”
Ms. Smita Kalappa, National Director, CFC programme, Smile Foundation said, “After getting an overwhelming response from principals last year, this is our second attempt to organize this workshop. Through such efforts, Smile Foundation endeavours to make the society a better place to live in, where children can be nurtured in a secure and conducive environment.”
Smile Foundation has been working for over a decade now, to educate, empower and sensitize children, youth and women through its various programmes. The mission is to educate them to become empowered citizens of this country with equal rights and opportunities.
About the Speaker
Dr. Ali Khwaja, the Founder and Head of Banjara Academy, is a Montessorian, an engineering graduate of IIT, MIE, MIIM with a PhD in behavioral sciences. He is invited regularly to conduct workshops or lectures for Defence, Central Government, prestigious National Institutions, schools & colleges. He has been presenting papers in national workshops and has written over 30 books and 80 booklets on all practical aspects of day-to-day life.
