More smiles, please
NEW DELHI: The children of Smile Foundation sent their best wishes to the Indian team for the ICC World Cup, ahead of the inaugural match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
As part of its ongoing campaign `Every Child Has The Right To Smile,’ the Smile Foundation organised a signature campaign wherein the underprivileged children shared a platform with common citizens in cheering for the Indian team at the Dilli Haat.
Their message read `Second To None, Bring Home The Cup.’ Kirti Azad, former Test player and a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, launched the campaign by giving his best wishes to the team, and signing a specially designed cricket bat.
“I thank the Smile Foundation for conceptualising this unique idea to bring these kids here. I assure these children that if the Indian team wins the Cup, I’ll definitely organise a meeting with their heroes,” Azad promised. After Azad initiated the programme, all the children present wrote their best wishes to the Indian team. He also presented autographed bats to all the children. — Special Correspondent.
