Renowned actor Padma Shri Ajay Devgn has joined hands with Smile Foundation as Goodwill Ambassador for ‘She Can Fly’ – an initiative to support education and empowerment of girl children.
“I have a daughter at home and I know education is the most important thing to bring a change. A nation does not only consist of men; it is about men and women together. Women, not only in our country but all over the world, suffer from one problem or the other. I would love to change that. But, I can only try and make a little effort. We all have to do it together. Let’s pledge to ensure education for every girl. Don’t say no because she’s a girl, give her wings because She Can Fly”, said Ajay Devgn while flagging off the initiative with his daughter Nysa and Chef Vikas Khanna.
Employees from leading corporate including Ericsson Global, Colgate Palmolive, Philips, FIS, Adobe Nippon, KFC and Burrp, joined hands with Smile Foundation to celebrate the Joy of Giving Week. The campaign was aimed at sensitizing and mobilizing individuals to take up their social responsibility. The funds raised went towards the education of less privileged children, supporting their critical needs such as stationery, school kits, uniforms, nutrition and scholarship. Enthusiastic participation from the employees ensured the campaign’s success, with educational support being provided to more than 500 children
Smile Foundation participated in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon for the seventh consecutive year as a “Change Runner” to raise resources for the education of children studying at Mission Education centres across India. Volunteers from leading corporate including BlackRock Services Pvt. Ltd., Amtek Auto Limited and JK Cement joined the Smile team and supported the cause.
The 11th edition of Smile Foundation’s charity fashion show Ramp for Champs, dedicated to girl child education, was held at the Hyatt Regency in Mumbai. Titled “Divine Flowers”, the event centred on the symbolic divinity, beauty and joyful spirit of flowers, as reflected in human form by children.
More than 50 celebrities and personalities including Archana Kochhar, Amyra Dastur, Sonal Chauhan, Meyang Chang, Shaleen Bhanot, Praveen Dabas, Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargawa, Radha Dheer, Shweta Rohira, Giaa Manek, Preetika Rao, Hunar and Mayank Gandhi, Rakhi and Hemang Pandit, Ridhima Pandit, Gurpreet Gura, Shruti Tejwani, Sukriti Kakar, Prakriti Kakar, Terence Lewis, Karan Grover, Caesar Gonsalves, Ajaz Khan, Shravan Reddy, Abhijeet Sawant, VJ Andy, Sushant Singh, Rati Pandey, Sara Khan, Shraddha Arya, Prashant Sawant, Pretty Agarwal, Sarika Mehra, Yugma Desai, Sanskruti Balgude, Aditi Singh Sharma, Pooja Sawant, Sejal Sharma, and Meghna Naidu were present to lend their support.
Smile kids matched steps with these personalities surprising everyone with their style and confidence. The kids were the real champs of the show, as the whole evening had been organized for the sole purpose of supporting their education.

Virat Kohli Foundation has joined hands with Smile Foundation to support the cause of empowerment of less privileged children and youth. As a first step towards this endeavour, Virat hosted a one-of-its-kind charity dinner at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai, and was joined by his colleagues Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkay Rahane and KL Rahul.
“The sole purpose behind this initiative is to raise awareness and support for the cause of education and skill training for the thousands of less privileged children and youth in India. The fund-raiser also saw an auction of selective high-end luxury products and cricket memorabilia close to the heart of the star batsman and his cricketer friends. The amount raised will help support empowerment of underprivileged children and youth. The auction was conducted by Malcolm Todywalla from Todywalla Auctions. Mesmerizing performances from Armaan Malik, Neeti Mohan, Sandip Soparrkar, Nitish Bharti, The Invincible (led by Shraey Khanna) and Nitisha Nanda left the audience spellbound.

Avery Dennison joined hands with Smile Foundation to support its women empowerment programme Swabhiman through a new project in Gurgaon which will benefit a population of over 15,000. Avery Dennison has already been supporting scholarship for less privileged girls under the programme since 2014. Siddhomal Charitable Trust, the philanthropic arm of INOX Group, joined hands with Smile Foundation to support the education of 100 underprivileged children under Mission Education programme, and livelihood training for young women in Delhi under STeP programme.
