6 Children groups have been formed in 6 settlements focusing on child rights. The groups have been formed at the settlement level for involving the whole community so that they understand the rights of the children. The project also aims to make the children aware of their rights. Initially the project staff will interact with the groups regularly to make them aware on child rights and the group will get an opportunity to interact with key stakeholders, duty bearers and most important, other children. The members in the children group will vary with respect to the size of child population in the IDP settlements. This is a necessary step as underprivileged children living in rural areas children often are not aware about basic rights and neither are the parents and end up victims to various kinds of child abuses.
