A health workshop was conducted for the women of Kunchikorve, Mumbai. The women residing in this area are not well educated in the matters of personal hygiene and do little to maintain it which results in a lot of infections like UTI etc in young women. The workshop was conducted by health experts who talked about menstrual problems, how to maintain hygiene and importance of proper nutrition for women. The women raised a lot of queries which were answered by the experts. the entire workshop proved to be successful for these underprivileged women who learned a lot.
Swabhiman, meaning self-respect in English, was initiated in 2005 to address these challenges through a simple yet effective approach.
