Dedicated to the welfare of women and the girl child, Swabhiman organized a special health camp for women, adolescent girls and children at the Hegganahalli and Ramanna Badavane settlements in Bengaluru, Karnataka. 10 expecting mothers could avail the facility of check-ups and one-on-one counseling sessions. The health camp, facilitated by a team of medical professionals, Swabhiman Health Volunteers (SHVs) and Community Health Educators (CHEs), provided preventive and curative health services as well as free medicines to the beneficiaries. The community women were also made aware of hygienic practices and healthy eating habits that they should adopt in their daily lives, and subsequently in their families’ routine.
