New Zealand Women’s Cricket Team nicknamed White Ferns spent a memorable day with children at Smile Foundation’s Mission Education centre Vidyarana in Bangalore. The centre is home to more than 60 orphan children who are provided shelter, nutrition, education, and most importantly love and care.
With an aim to raise awareness about importance of education, the players interacted with the children and gave them various tips and secrets of playing cricket which left the children with big smiles on their faces. After a brief cricket match amidst lots of fun and laughter, the players motivated the kids to perform well in their studies so that they too have a bright future.
“The fact that our presence there made the children so happy and they were smiling the whole time, makes us elated and excited,” said Anna Peterson, an all-rounder from the team.
