Smile Foundation recently participated in a three-day public information campaign ‘Bharat Nirman Jan Soochna Abhiyan’ organised by Press Information Bureau, Indore, at Chanderi, Ashok Nagar district in Madhya Pradesh.
The campaign, held during March 17-19, was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Power Jyotiraditya Scindia. Around 40 stalls were put up to disseminate information among the rural population about the flagship programmes of the government of India as well as development initiatives of the NGOs.
On display were banners, brochures, information pamphlets and other IEC materials regarding various development initiatives of Smile Foundation in the areas of education, healthcare, livelihood and empowerment of women and girl children. Movies regarding the work of Smile Foundation and initiatives like Smile on Wheels were also screened for the people of the area.
Project Manager Santosh Bhargav, who looks after the outreach programme of Smile on Wheels in Guna, met Mr. Scindia during the inaugural ceremony and apprised him about the mobile medical programme, being run for the underprivileged people in the area.
Local administration officials including Mr. Mahendra Singh Kalukheda (MLA, Biora), Mr. Rao Rajkumar Singh (MMLA, Chanderi), Jila Panchayat official Mr. Awasthi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Block Medical Officer, and Chief Medical Officer also visited the stall to obtain information about various activities of Smile Foundation. They expressed the hope that these activities will truly prove beneficial for the rural population of the area.
Smile Foundation received an award and certificate for putting up the best informative stall among all the participants.
