The high rates of maternal and infant mortality are increasingly becoming a concern in India, as we are struggling to keep up with the 2015 UN Millennium Development Goals on both the counts.
Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman Programme has been trying to bring about a sustained progress in maternal and child health indicators in its intervention areas of Dhaula Kuan, Begumpur, Chhattarpur, Seemapuri, and New Ashok Nagar, etc through education of its community peer educators. The activities in these areas are directly supported by Swabhiman’s project partner National Small Industries Corporation.
