A Teacher’s Training workshop was conducted for a group of teachers from various Mission Education centers for 3 days in New Delhi. These teachers teach children from families who reside in the urban slums and the parents are mostly engaged in daily wage labor. Due to the financial conditions at home these children mostly end up dropping from school and work in unhygienic, threatening conditions. Steps to reduce dropout rates, make learning more fun, sensitizing the parents etc was discussed along with methods to make the learning process more effective. The teachers were specially trained to implement innovative teaching practices to make the learning process more fun and engaging.
